Since its founding in 1974, Lafer has been at the forefront of the fabric finishing industry, dedicated to transforming innovative ideas - ideas for better fabrics - into high-performance finishing machines that deliver superior surface effects with efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

At Lafer, we pride ourselves on our in-house design and manufacturing processes. Every component, from mechanics and hardware to software, is crafted with precision at our facilities. When you purchase a Lafer machine, you’re investing in a product that is truly "Made in Lafer". Our team of skilled technicians—both local and traveling—ensure that we maintain close communication with customers worldwide, providing personalized support and customized solutions to meet specific finishing needs.

50+ YEARS OF LAFER

Over the past 50 years, Lafer has consistently offered custom-made solutions to tackle the evolving challenges of the fabric finishing industry. Our commitment to continuous innovation ensures that we stay ahead of industry trends, delivering cutting-edge machines and systems that enhance fabric quality and productivity.

KEY INNOVATIONS IN FABRIC FINISHING

One of Lafer’s most iconic innovations was the development of the double drum raising machine in the 1980s, which revolutionized the industry. At a time when single drum machines dominated the market, Lafer introduced this groundbreaking system, setting a new industry benchmark. Our raising machines have continued to evolve, transitioning from mechanical designs to computer-based systems, showcasing Lafer’s commitment to technological advancement in fabric finishing.

In the late 1990s, Lafer launched the Ultrasoft brush sueding machine, designed for knit finishers. This innovative machine played a key role in sparking a global trend for knit fabrics with a sueded vintage effect, a previously unknown finish until Lafer demonstrated its possibilities.

Further expanding our range of innovations, we developed the Booster hybrid mechanical shoe + felt compactor offering precise control over even the most challenging knit fabrics.

SUSTAINABILITY

Recognizing the growing demand for sustainability, Lafer introduced Dissolva closed-loop waterless scouring plant,  a pioneering system in the wet finishing sector. This environmentally friendly system eliminates harmful discharges to water or air, reduces energy consumption and consumes zero water, making it the Best Available Technology for fabric finishing offering superior de-oling performance.

Additionally, Lafer pioneered Permafix the first liquid ammonia plant specifically for knits, further solidifying our leadership in sustainable fabric finishing technology.

REVOLUTIONIZING FABRIC PROCESSING

Most recently, Lafer introduced the Aquasoft open-width enzyme processing system featuring patented 4-way mobile fabric tanks that provide the most precise fabric control ever seen in the industry.

By continually utilizing the Best Available Technology (BAT), Lafer ensures that our customers experience maximum value from their machines, benefiting from long-lasting performance and low operational costs.

At Lafer, we remain committed to turning innovative ideas into game-changing fabric finishing solutions that make a significant impact on both the industry and the environment… Ideas for better fabrics
